Question 1: “Who plays the third shot?”
Answer 1: The golfer whose second shot wasn’t used. And from there you will hit alternate shots until the ball goes in the hole.
Chapman System Golf Format Summary
1. Both players tee off on every hole.
2. After the tee shots, golfers switch balls – golfer A hits’ golfer B tee shot and vice versa.
3. After both players hit their second shots, the team will select the one ball in better position.
4. Next, one golfer, the golfer whose ball is not played, will play the third stroke and then alterate until the hole is finished.
Question 2: How are the two-man teams selected?
Answer 2: The Golf Genius computer program will assign teams automatically using Handicap Index, to equalize handicaps and teams.
Question 3: How does Golf Genius utilize the Players Handicaps?
Answer 3: The USGA method of handicapping uses 60% of A player and 40% of the B Player. As in the past, we will have 2 flights, AB & CD, so the same handicapping method will be applied to the C and D players.
Question 4: What scores do we record on the scorecard and in the Golf Genius phone app?
Answer 4: You will record one (1) GROSS score for your 2-man team for each hole.
Question 5: Is there a maximum score on a hole?
Answer 5: A maximum hole by hole score net double bogey will be applied for tournament scoring.
Question 6: Will my tournament score be applied to my GHIN handicap?
Answer 6: No. Scores recorded will apply to this tournament only, and will not be posted to GHIN.
