CMGA Minutes for March 4, 2026

3:25 pm Meeting called to order.

Attending: David Schofield, Steve Postemski, Drew Satterfield, Mike Adams, Tom Nelson, George Mah and Gary Vogel.

We are looking for a replacement as Secretary. Our current Secretary Steve Postemski will be moving soon so a replacement is needed. Contact Gary Vogel or any other Board member.

Next week, March 11, our tee time moves to 0900. March 25 will be a “Step Aside” scramble. Four-man teams. All four tee off and then pick the best shot. The player whose shot is selected does not hit the next shot. This continues until the ball is holed.

Updating our bank account so that David Schofield, Gary Vogel and Drew Satterfield will be the 3 members listed

Currently there is $4,500 in budget. 52 members have paid 2026 membership. It was decided the few players playing on Friday not currently in CMGA will be required to pay CMGA membership.

For simplicity, rules and costs for all playing days will be the same. Drew will be sending out the rules update. Cost will be the same for all days, $5 for game, $5 for skins. There will be no close-up or hole-in-one prizes while we are away from Chattahoochee. Hole in one $$ will be suspended after the final play at Chattahoochee due to the variety of venues and the player caps at other courses. This is just until we resume play again when Chattahoochee reopens hopefully in October. Current pot is about $270.

Monday and Friday play will be at Chicopee Woods. We have four tee times on Mondays starting at noon and eight tee times on Friday starting at 7:30. Wednesdays look like they will rotate at various courses. First match on April 1 will be at Chimney Oaks in Homer. A rate of $70 per round was agreed upon by the board and GM. If you want to hit range balls it is up to the individual so the extra cost, $10, will not be added to the round of golf. Shotgun or individual tee times are not finalized yet. Gary is working on that and should have it finalized shortly.

The Board has been communicating with the majority of Golf Courses in the area. Chimney Oaks-$70, Chicopee Woods, Royal Lakes-$80, Chestatee-$80, Reunion-$65, Apple Mountain, Polo, Crystal Falls, and Valhalla (Innsbruck) in Helen- $50 (hilly and fun to play) Don’t know if everyone would like it as a regular, but that Bavarian food and beer is excellent. Perhaps DECOY if the weather is an issue

Other courses reviewed were Sequoya National. Mike Adams is checking on Apr 22, Jun 3 and Aug 12 or 19. Other courses have been mentioned as possibilities, Achasta, Double Oaks and Chateau Elan. If anyone has any suggestions, please give a shout to one of the Board members, variety is good!
